Oil painting on canvas of a sea turtle floating in the vastness of the ocean. The minimalist pointillism technique used seeks to reveal the shapes of the turtle in an abstract way, simply by using black dots of different shapes and sizes.

Brief history

Since I saw a sea turtle being born for the first time, on a beach in Mexico, I was amazed at how beautiful and special they are. That day we saw how the turtles came out of the eggs buried in the sand and went to the water as fast as they could, with their little legs, so that they wouldn't be eaten by a seagull or any animal that happened to be there. When they got to the water I went swimming with them and spent some time watching them, playing with them and freaking out at how well they swam for being newborns. It was a unique experience that made this little sea animal one of my favorites.
