Oil painting on canvas of two manta rays floating together in the vastness of the ocean. The minimalist pointillism technique used seeks to reveal the shapes of the manta rays in an abstract way, simply by using black dots of different shapes and sizes.

Brief history

Many years ago I first came across a family of manta rays while diving in Mexico. I was certainly fascinated by their elegance as they flew through the sea without any apparent effort. It was one of the first animals I painted using this technique, as I consider it elegant, and I think it fits very well with the manta rays.
